Our final leg of the US tour brings us to New York City. We are staying downtown, just off Wall Street (it's great all the bankers are off on vacation too). Day one in the great city saw me drag the family to the memorial to 9/11. Happening a year to the day before my youngest was born it was emotional looking at the pools marking the towers. In a strange move for me, I was a bit shocked that a couple were celebrating their wedding by having their photos at the place. It just seemed a little wrong.
Following the visit to the pools we went up One World Trade Center. This was so much fun, watching the 102 storey elevator ride in around 47 seconds show the rise of the New York skyline. We then took in the views before a couple of drinks and ice cream.
